Low Vision Restricted Driver’s Licenses

If you do not meet the vision standards for a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania driver's license, you may qualify for a restricted (low vision) license. A restricted license allows you, as the driver, to drive during daylight hours on Pennsylvania roadways other than freeways.
 
Eligibility
  • Have a visual acuity of less than 20/70 combined vision, but at least 20/100 combined vision with best correction 
  • 120 degrees field vision in the horizontal meridian 
  • Qualify with a recommendation from an optometrist or physician.
