Most positions at the Pennsylvania Department of Aging are covered by a merit system that is managed by the State Civil Service Commission. The Department of Aging has only a very limited number of jobs not covered by civil service.  

Applicants not already employed by the Department of Aging or in a civil service position elsewhere are encouraged to take an exam for a specific civil service job title(s). For more on the job titles with open exams, please visit www.employment.pa.gov.
